Memorandum on affirmative action policies in Slovakia

Center for Legal Analyses
The article puts forward a number of reasons why the author thinks positive discrimination will prove difficult in Slovakia. It makes comparisons between the US experience and that of Slovakia. It suggests that among the reasons are the negative memories of favouritism under the communist regime and what is perceived as the lack of political will in addressing questions of social cohesion. To reinforce this argument the author uses historical, political and constitutional information.
