Fiscal policy in Romania

| This article argues for a sustainable rationalisation of the budget. In particular, it calls for the need to break what the author calls the 3 vicious circles, savings, fiscal policy and the informal economy, phenomena that are all aggravated by short term policies. It puts particular emphasis on the need to solve the budget shortfall by means other than the ad hoc tax increases that are usually introduced in response to low collection rates. |
